AN IMPROBABLE ADVENTURE, A MAGICAL DISCOVERY AND THE BIRTH OF A NEW VEGAN BRAND

"When I finally tasted my very own vegan "camembert", which had been in the making for no less than a month, I can only say that it really did knock my socks off. I had trouble believing my own taste buds; it was not like a "real cheese", it was better. A lot better! I was totally besotted! Faced with nothing but enthusiastic reactions from vegan friends, and omnivores alike, I told myself that I couldn’t just leave this hanging and the idea of sharing it with as many people as possible saw the light of day.

During the months to follow, I tested several recipes until I found the right balance between the taste, the texture, the rind and the appearance.

Then arose the question of… what to call it? I had no intention of going with "cheese" or "camembert", they just perpetuate the notion of animal suffering. I decided to call it Peter, as a tribute to Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones), who became a vegetarian at 16 and has been committed to veganism for many years.

Peter is something between a "brie" and a "camembert" although there’s no denying, it’s in a league all of its own. Ethically speaking, unlike "real cheese" there is no animal suffering involved anywhere along the production line; Peter is certified 100% vegan. Nutritionally speaking, Peter is an incredible source of nutrients and vitamins, as it consists entirely of cashew nuts.
Cashew nuts are not only delicious; they’re also jam-packed with nutrients and have many health benefits. They’re very high in good fats, proteins, minerals, antioxidants, essential nutrients and vitamins. Cashew nuts are, without a doubt, one of the best oilseeds out there.

Peter is my first vegan creation and it won’t be my last, so I needed to give this thing an appellation to include all my upcoming concepts… It gives me great joy to announce that the "Thank God It’s Vegan" -line of products will soon be available in a shop (with any luck) near you! The Future is Vegan."
